In need of new car or I lose job.... :(

July 16th 2009, while driving to work my transmission in my car went out. I don't have $1,400.00 to 'replace' the transmission nor do I have the money to even buy a new car. I tried getting a new car from a dealer here, and they required a $1,200 down payment (I have $300.00) but still, I can't even afford that.

I'm desperate and I don't want to lose / can't afford to lose my job at a major Mid-Missouri Resort. At this point I'm willing to do anything to secure a vehicle (As long as it's moral and legal!). 

I just need help getting a car. I'm tired of looking online and finding 'get help securing a loan for a new car' or 'get a used car loan here'. I don't want a darn loan, I just want a car. I want to get to work. I want to be able to get from point A to point B.

 

Please help.

 

I live in central Missouri (Eldon Missouri to be exact) and I work at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach Missouri (http://www.tan-tar-a.com) I work from 11pm to 7am Central Time. This will help prove who I am if you need to call me. Willing to provide references.

I'm also a volunteer firefighter for the Moreau Fire Protection District in Eldon Missouri. So I do in fact know what it's like to help other. I just wished it wasn't me who needed the help this time......

I first off want to say thanks for any support that was offered to me. I am finally in Missouri and with my family. Everything's going pretty good now. All that's left is to get a vehicle and a new job. :D

I have just recently lost my job and only have one very small check coming to me. Just yesterday I learn that I have to be out of my room mates house in about two weeks. The closest place I can go to is my Moms or Uncles place which is a few states away. I'm in Daytona Beach Florida, Volusia County (...which by the way is like the poorest county in Florida and hardly has any jobs...) and am needing to get to Eldon Missouri. My problem is transportation. If some one can please point me out a program or organization that can help with something like a bus ticket please let me know.

My name is Terry Handel. I was born August 4th of 1980 as the first of two children. I've grown up all over the United States as far North as Alaska and as far South as Florida but have never been North or East of Tennessee / Kentucky. Although born in Dallas / Ft. Worth Texas, I consider Missouri my home state being I have lived there over half of my life. Being in areas such as Lake Ozark / Osage Beach, Eldon, West Plains & Poplar Bluff I have always loved the country and city mix. I was once a Volunteer Junior Firefighter under the Moreau Fire Protection District in Eldon Missouri during my teenage years. I plan on becoming a Volunteer Firefighter with the department again sometime in my life before I get too old. I have and always will love assisting others whenever the chance arises. But on that same token, there are times when I ask for assistance. Everyone needs help at one point or another.
